"Presque Isle" Contemporary Seascape Painting By Donna Holdsworth
I created this painting using acrylic on a 16x20 textured stretched canvas. I actually used the horizontal presentation this time. This was odd for me because so much of my work is done vertically. After my textures dried, I sealed them & then painted an under painting using Paynes Gray, White, Alizarin Crimson and Yellow Ochre. On top of that I used a more neutral palate and tried to let some of the under painting show through. I added the top of the trees in many layers, going from dark to light. I tried to apply the paint a little thicker here for added texture. This is a place on Presque Isle that I have seen only in my imagination. This was a fun painting and I am happy with it. It looks beautiful in a frame. It is available for auction via My DPW Gallery! or E-Mail me at Donna's E-Mail. I am off to have coffee with an old friend who I have not seen in many years. Hope you enjoy the rest of your day and thank you for visiting my blog!
